Evidence Based and Therapeutic programs

Matter of Balance: Many seniors experience fear of falling and restrict their activities. A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls emphasizes practical strategies to reduce this fear and increase activity levels. This program was developed at the Roybal Center at Boston University, and has been nationally recognized by the National Council on Aging.

Arthritis Foundation Tai Chi ProgramĀ®: Designed to improve the quality of life for people with arthritis using Sun style Tai Chi, one of the four major recognized styles of Tai Chi. This style includes agile steps and exercises that may improve mobility, breathing and relaxation. The movements don't require deep bending or squatting, which makes it easier and more comfortable to learn.

Health Rhythms: Would you like to try something that is proven to reduce your stress? HealthRHYTHMS Group Empowerment Drumming has many elements of wellness in one activity that anyone can enjoy. No musical experience necessary just an open mind and heart, and the willingness to try something new.

Active Living Every Day: Having energy, feeling good, and being healthy are all benefits of active living. You can achieve these benefits with Active Living Every Day. This program developed in cooperation with the Cooper Institute.

Recreational Music Making for the Piano: Recreational Music Making is beginning piano for adults in a group setting! Learn the basics of music and the joy of playing the piano, reading, musicianship and more.

"Savion" Brain Exercise: A computer program designed to provide mind stimulating tasks using mostly the computer keyboard. Savion is comprised of four different tasks: memory, words, shapes and math.

MindFit: This computer program has been scientifically designed for the mature population, as well as for people of all ages, to help strengthen brain function and keep your brain challenged.

Healthy Steps/Lebed Method: This is a fun, gentle, special movement therapeutic exercise program with great music.  Healthy Steps is very gentle and can be done seated in a chair too.

Senior Yoga: This method ensures relaxation, ease of movement, strength, flexibility, focus and breath control.
