Whether you want to give back to the community, make new friends, earn community service hours, or enhance your resume, the Mayerson JCC has many volunteer opportunities available year-round. Volunteers are matched with positions that fit their skills and interests.
Immediate Volunteer Needs:
19th Annual JCC Adams Classic
Thursday, June 6; Losantiville Country Club
Enjoy a beautiful day in the sun at Losantiville Country Club, while you support the J! Volunteer to help at the 19th Annual JCC Adams Classic.
This is our only annual fundraising event of the year! Come help out for a shift or all day. FREE lunch for all volunteers and a special price for dinner too. Volunteers much be ages 18 and up.
Shifts available:
7:30am – 12:30pm
12:30pm – 6pm
What can you do?
- Greet and register golfers, tennis players and mah jongg players
- Sell raffle tickets
- Work a snack station on the golf course
- Monitor a hole-in-one contest
- Help with errands and deliveries
Additional JCC Volunteer Opportunities:
Meals on Wheels Delivery Drivers
Regular and substitute drivers are needed right away. Deliver meals to homebound seniors using your own vehicle. Most delivery routes take approximately 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
Organizer/Librarian
We have marketing materials that need your organizational touch. This is a great task for 1 – 3 individuals that would like to create and/or maintain our brochures, newspaper ads and flyers by department, date etc. Flexible scheduling for your convenience, Mon-Fri between 9:30am – 6:00pm.
Grant Researchers
Are you a cyber-sleuth? Come help us investigate which “rocks to turn over” to find grant opportunities and support sources for funding in areas like senior adults, fine arts, special needs, etc. You can schedule convenient time to come in and work on our computers, Mon-Fri between 9:30am – 6:00pm or work remotely! We can even show you how to draft a grant proposal.
Office Assistants
Help is needed with basic data entry and filing.
You choose the day, M - F.
Meal Packagers
Help us to assemble and pack food for delivery to our Meals On Wheels clients. No cooking is involved.
JCC Special Events Team
Help out at any of our wonderful special events including: Adams Golf Classic & Tennis Open, Authors Out Loud, Fit Fun Day, Senior Tech Fair and more. Be involved by greeting guests, selling tickets, ushering, serving food, running games, setting up or tearing down.
ShalomPhone Caller
Volunteers make calls twice a week to check on the well-being of elderly and disabled persons who live alone. Be someone's friend and connection to the outside world with a 5 or 10 minute phone call
J Play-er
Help out mornings, evenings or weekends in J Play, our drop-in childcare center. This is a great opportunity for volunteers that are high school age and up.
Car Washer
Once or twice a month, help is needed to clean our Meals On Wheels delivery vans outside and in. Wear your flip flops!
Instructor, Facilitator, Coordinator
If you have a skill, interest, talent and time, volunteer to teach a class to senior adults.
Fitness Center Volunteer
Help out evenings or weekends, the time frame is flexible. You may greet guests, help monitor and maintain fitness equipment, organize files or contact new members.
Volunteer On Call
You can help out without any long term commitment. Put your name on our "On Call" list and we’ll call you when last minute needs arise. These onetime opportunities may include mail prep, data entry, event set up and more. You can specify the type of tasks you prefer.
